This piece derives its title and idea from a Buddhist ritual that I attended a few years ago, where I was particularly drawn to:

(1) moments when the vocal chanting and the music entwined with each other, resulting a state that was both directional and lingering, and

(2) the deliberate temporal contrast between the seemingly static sound world and the monks' wandering about in the physical space in an almost marching-like fashion.
